How to use the Technology Radar
Introduction
The quadrants are:
- Languages & Frameworks: This category includes development languages like Kotlin or C#, as well as development frameworks such as Tailwind CSS or Playwright. These are valuable for implementing various types of custom software.
- Tools: This section is dedicated to a wide range of software tools, from small utilities to more extensive software projects.
- Methods & Patterns: Patterns hold enduring significance, with many of them standing the test of time compared to some tools or frameworks. This category is where I provide information on methods and patterns related to development, continuous integration, testing, organization, architecture, and more.
- Platforms & Operations: In this quadrant, I group technologies related to the operation of software, infrastructure, and platform-related tools and services.
Each of the items is classified in one of these rings:
- Adopt: Technology or methodology that I use or have used in the past, and that I will likely keep using it in future as I have found them to be useful or important.
- Use: Technology that I use on a day-to-day basis. Some of these technologies will either move to 'Adopt' or 'Past'.
- Assess: Technologies that I either want to learn or I haven't used for a prolonged amount of time and would like to get more experience on it.
- Past: Technologies that I have used in the past, but haven't touched since, whether to lack of interest or opportunity.
